Elle UK hot 50, fashion blogger from Poland, Polish fashion blog, Raspberry and red, Weronika Załazińska, www.raspberryandred.blogspot.com
Do you know this feeling when you wake up being 28 years old (and 10 months, to be precise) realising that: you won’t be a famous ballerina, a fantastic photographer or worldwide known singer and that there are so many young people with all these possibilities ahead them? It makes me jealous but also very proud. Because it looks like there are young people with capabilities out there and world just needs to discover them.
I discovered Weronika Załazińska only today and I’m amazed. She is a 17 year old (!) fashion blogger from Poland and British edition of Elle has just placed her in the group of ‘Hot 50’ new talents – in 7th place in addition!
So I entered her RASPBERRY AND RED blog and I liked her straightaway. Read couple of posts and found her very normal: no aubergine recipes, no pastel skinny jeans. And no famous father who could be a perfect reason for her to be successful. Then I found that video of her speaking on the morning show (in Polish, available HERE) and I simply added Raspberry and red to my favourites.
Who is she? A schoolgirl – in love with anything to do with the 1950’s – as she says – and sure that she was born in the wrong decade. Her adventure with fashion blog started from a boring winter break in 2009. She admits it began to be serious in 2011 though.
What I also appreciate about her is the fact that she sticks to her blog’s purpose. ‘I chit-chat with my readers and talk to them in a way I would talk to my friends’. And because Weronika wants to keep that personal realation with her readers, it’s not easy to find commercial banners and covered adverts on her webpage – ‘my readers are not stupid – she says – they would notice any marketing actions immeditely’.
I liked her. And I want you to like her too because she is the girl you’ll hear about in the future for sure!
